Title: Dodgy noise

Hi all, well i am pritty sure that the starter motor is on the way out on my car as occasionally it makes a small whining noise. however i have also noted anouther noice that comes from the engine. at around 4000-4500 reves the engine seems to make a kuuukkk kinda noise sorry the best kinda way i could describe it lol. i did not that there seems to be a rattle(loose tie)  when i tap on the pipe that appears to lead to the air box that is close to the engine. sorry for the really rubbish description thanks for helping if you do lol  cheers kane

whinning noise is commons on the golf from the starter motor,just check all ur pipes are tight m8.
