Right who can help..
I'm sure this fault has afflicted many people, and I'm almost certain that searching for it will give results... But bear with me  I worked a 16 hour and 12 hour day last week, and am still working 6 days a week. I'm at work as I type :embarassed: So - I'm calling on you pro's as I've not got the time to faff about!
I've got a slight misfire, so could either do with a defo reason of what it is, or for someone local to vagcom me in the next couple of days. I'm at work Mon-Wed, then having surgery Thur before hitting the rolling road Sat. I was going to leave the car as it is and RR it knowing the power is down, but I want to fix it first
OK - I'm sure I've had this fault before, and I think it was the MAF (after I'd changed the lambda) on my 306gti.
When driving consistently no rash acceleration, just around town, it feels fine and smooth. then, really open it up and it hesitates and holds back slightly, it then clears it's throat, but still feels a bit down on power. No lights on the dash, no noticable mpg loss (poss 1-2 down, not a lot). It starts and drives fine, was a little hesitant to start the other day when it was pretty cold, but still started first time.
I'm guessing MAF or maybe even a coil pack, but what do you guys think?
Dai - I take it the MAF is in use on yours, and different between 2.0&1.8T

Yes mate different i had to buy a new one for £78 (and didnt fix my running probs) starting to hate the 1.8T engine at the moment,
With Ref to your probs the coil pack loom are known for chaffing through, could be the start of that chaffing through :undecided:

I've got a fault code reader (only an eBay special, but does the job ;)) if you can get upto Solihull J5 M42 (or even 6 because that's closer, & I'm nice! :D)??
-
p.s. You changed the plugs recently/have they been changed in the last 20k?
-
No time to get to Solihull  barely enough time to get to the stealers!
Sparkers were changed at 167k, November last year.
