Went to the stealers yesterday and saw the car in the flesh, managed to knock him down to £12600, nice! car is looking good, couple of scratches behind the door handle, previous owner must have been blinged up. little sratch above rear drivers side arch but other than that clean as a whistle! Have to wait till next sat to pick her up though....

What spec?
-
56 plate 19k miles 3dr reflex silver, 17" monzas, totally standard with 6 months of original warranty and full 12 month vw warranty.
-
You got a pretty good deal there ;)
-
Sweet, cheers, was up for £13.5k originally so got 900 quid off! Defo a buyers market. The stealer said he could go no cheaper than £12800 so i said fine and went to leave, lol, that shook him up and got me my 12600
-
Did you trade yours in against it? If you're getting rid, the vultures in the mk4 section will be fighting over your front valance
-
Think it went along time ago!
-
lol, the mk4 went about 4 months ago unfortunately!! Went to a good home though
This waiting is killing me! Test drove the GT 170 TDI and the GTi yesterday back to back, both 3 door and reflex silver, parked them next to eachother and gave them a damn good comparison... there was no comparison imo, GTi ftw!!!
-
The GTI looks much meaner! You made the best choice!

Yeah, thats my story too. Went to the garage wanting a TDi, made the mistake of test driving the GTi afterwards for comparisoni. Game over.

Cool, I just signed the papers today as well! Also picking it up next week. First ever GTi, very exited. Ended up paying 19K though - totally skint now...

For that sort of cash, I have to say i'd be more inclined to get an ed30...

Yeah, considered that but 200BHP is plenty for me and I preferred the extra spec. It was also a matter of what was available at the time as I have to return my lease car this week so couldn't shop around too much.
-
once youre driving it i dont think youll remember what you paid and/or what you could or should have got. cos its the dogs and you,ll luv it

For 19k I would also have gone for a ED30 - could have got one that was almost new, with a few options as well.
Nevertheless, Im sure you'll still enjoy the GTI big time!

You got one hell of a spec there though! Nice! The waiting is really killing me....

Thanks guys. No point in worrying what I could have bought, I'll just make sure I have a blast in what I have.

hi tricky boy yeah loving the gti mate did have a 2003 civic type r which was a nice car aswell but not a patch on the gti, i dont care what figures say on paper regarding gti and type r as the torque in the gti is emence compared to type r + cant wait to go revo now when ive got some spare notes lol gti seems slightly better on fuel aswell average 32 mpg most of time drops to around 20 occasionaly though
