Title: I bought a Piper X filter
Post by: T_J_G on 19 March 2009, 22:40
but a proper induction kit, was in Halfords for £20 .

Question is, do I put it on? or leave it boxed and punt it on eBay for a tidy profit. I'm intrigued to see what the car would sound like though!

It's not a panel I've got, I only bought this as it was cheap!

I'd throw it on, mate - Or at least until the summer (heat soak).  Should be a nice easy job.  Is it one of these?  >>>  http://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/inductionkitdisplay.asp?model=166&kit=494

If it's the top one of the 3, did you get any air ducting with it?

Yeah it's the top one. Tried fitting it yesterday and it's a pile of poo.Ideally I'd need to order a silicon joiner to connect the induction to the MAF as the cone filter kept falling off. The instructions are pretty useless too.
It's on ebay now so I'll probably get the one that goes behind the bumper (for the summer) and remove it in the winter when it gets wet.

What about a BMC then?  Sounds magnificent, sits in the right place so much easier to fit, & there's no danger of hydro-locking. ;)

I think i'll just go for an ebay jobby TBH. Only £40ish. May get a pipe made up in the winter so it sits higher up.

There's not enough room for the cone to sit higher up, though, IIRC. :undecided:

Sit it where the PiperX would have sat. anyway the PiperX needs to sell before I buy anything else. Limited finds and all that!
