Title: Do 5 door lecy window mechs fit 3 door?

Does anyone know if the 5 door (front ones) electric window mechanism + motors fit in 3 door models? TIA

no the mechanisms are smaller and the fittings won't line up

You mean the older quarter glass, type front door mech onto the full glass front door? Dunno  :grin:

wrong, 3 and 5 door front electric motors are the same. its only big/small glass ones that are different.
I know because I had the same electric window kit in both my 5 door driver and 3 door GTI.  MK3s however have different regulators for 3/5 door.

it also depends if they are aftermarket too.

no it doesnt, the holes for the regulators are in the same spot, so if they fit 3 doors they'll fit 5 doors. as i say, just the small and big glass ones that are different.

i made my statement based on the part numbers supplied when i had to identify a kit i had. Seperate part numbers for 3 and 5 door and also for the window type. Mine was an aftermarket kit- electric something or other

well i want a left and right front window mechs and motors for a 3dr 90 spec car if any one has some for sale :)
