what about front dash speakers?

what about front dash speakers?
They are odd because the original ones are mounted on a big black frame, whereas the actually tweeter itself it tiny. In my case when I put components in I took the whole thing out and wedged my crossovers in, then the new tweeter on top of it, and because it's a tight fit it stays still inside.

hmm cos ive got tweeters in tehre atm, but ive got sme 4" infinity mid range speakers + tweeters and crossovers to go on, but they dont fit in front doors or rear speakers. Im gonna buy a sub + amp and then im gonna rewire the whole audio system and sort it out nicely
cheers shades

No problem chap, your crossovers and tweeters should fit in the dash speaker grills, just, if you're lucky :P

So what size speakers can you get in the dash tweeter position?
Thinking of some 2.5 inch mid/tweeters!
-
Well ideally you want to only put tweeters in the dash, that's the best speaker type to put in there, theoretically you can put another type of speaker in the with the right size and right mounting, but wouldn't be right in my opinion.

i agree, tweeters should be installed quite near to ear level as they are very directional, they should also be pointed towards the listener too if possible. in my old car i installed infinity kappa`s in the head lining, it sounded nice and crisp.

I got the Infinity Kappa Components, absolutely love them, think I'm giving them 80watts RMS atm, they are capable of 100 so going to upgrade the amp soon hopefully.

im running full jbl comp set up and an active 10"ported vibe set up  havent managed to kill the standard dash tweeters yet so theyre staying in till they do.
