Title: Bristol Based Noob
Post by: Asbo Sovfinger on 18 March 2009, 06:59
Hey guys, just made my first purchase of a ' Forest Green 96 8v and being mechanically ignorant and generally pretty stupid thought I'd drain a suitable forum of all it's advice and knowledge so I can make the world my own!   or maybe just sort out any little niggles that inevitably will make themselves known now the cash has changed hands.

1st things 1st though, just thought I'd say hi and set out my stall for golf domination.

Ta da.

Thanks for the welcome guys, nice to feel wanted as I think my missus is on the verge of disowning me as a newly qualified VW geek.  I told her where to go!!

Realise my first error as my dub is actually 'Dragon' green not 'Forest'.  See told you I was a noob.

Looking forward to 1st proper drive Sunday when the car formally enters my possession and have already scouted my route.  Will also give me a chance to assess the rather creaky clutch, hopefully nothing to sinister and I've already been checking the technical pages for ideas of problem - sounds like possibly cable.  Will hopefully have some receipts & paperwork to look through as well so can see when last replaced etc.

Phew!

Will have to work on my signature and hoping for a sunny day to get some photos of the newly washed beast itself.

Beavis is a Brislington boy.

I'm in Filton, from where I have been known to help poor and needy Golf3 owners.

Well, I certainly qualify as the first and almost definitely the second.  Not planning to do too much at the moment as brassic, but dash lighting is something I'm interested in sorting out.  Maybe match to the exisiting head unit.  At college on Ashley Down Rd until the summer (although I'm 32 not a sprightly 17) so not a million miles away from Filton, although my home base is Bedminster - the glorious BS3.  Cheers for the offer tho, you're a diamond

Sorry about that, but I thought I might as well set my horrendous sense of humour stall out early.
