I've finally seen a Mk6 on the road.
Tornado red, in front of me through Kendal.
From a distance I could not make out if it was a Mk4 Golf or a Polo.
There is no point in buying one if you already have a Mk5, especially as the fancy suspension is a 1000 Euro extra. They just do not look anything special, with Much Less road presence than a Mk5 GTI.

But then again... When you drive a tricycle its natural for people like you Mr Egg to be envious and be negetive whilst posting rubbish.
Have you not got another forum to go troll on?

i saw one the other week and wasn't particularly impressed i must admit. looks a wee bit like a scirocco from the front, but scirocco is much nicer.
-
I have to agree with you sharpie....
The MK6 doesnt really do it for me either... Maybe in real life it will be sexy but the scirocco to me is already leaps ahead.

painful isn't it

I do actually fancy buying a Trike.
A nice big V12 and plenty of chrome.
Good idea young South African.

I have seen two so far. One in silver in a decent spec. Looked good, especially the front end.
-
So you didnt like a standard mk6 compared to your GTI
How about waiting for the GTI then making your mind up fully.
-
What do you mean waiting? They are out and about.

No there not? VW have not even confirmed a date yet!

mk6 gti's are out and about ? where, when, who ? It's still too early yet I thought ?

They are 100% not out. If you saw one it would have been for magazines or being tested. If it had UK plates then it was not a GTI he saw!

Now im seriously confused. I'm sure I had a convo with a woman the other week she had one sat on the forecourt....I'm at work on sat I will try and grab a picture off the cctv...
That is if im not imaging things. I could be wrong.
-
They might have a GT but they haven't got a GTi. The are not on our shores yet.
As for the Mk6, I have seen a few on the road. I think it looks quite classy to be honest. It scores where the Mk5 failed, and to be honest the quality of the Mk5 compared to the Mk4 was shocking!
If anyone who owns a Mk5 but never owned any of the older models thinks the quality is good then they have missed out!
-
Quality might not be as good but the mk4 interior is one of the most hideously ugly and boring in any car i have seen

Yeah but your into personal opinion then aren't you...
The R32's are always better built over both the Mk4 and Mk5. A Mk5 R32 will be my next purchase!
-
Un buddy...
The only difference with a R32 interior and build over any other MK5 is minor. Like trim being aluminium or carbon fibre....
What are you going on about?

The mechanicals (brakes, ARB's, cam chain rather than belts etc), not the interior.
The interiors are always going to be the same quality

Yeah good point mate, im not a fan of the mk4 interior but a lot of people are!

I've seen a couple Mk6 Golfs on the road now and I'm still not sure if I like them. They appear to have DRLs. The sidelights have been on but no rear lights on. Not sure if I like this or not.
-
Seen loads about already, heck my local cop shop has 2 ! I think they're the GT's because they're 2.0 TDI's... from the front they look mean.
Looks wise, Standard MK5 vs Standard MK6, the MK6 beats the MK5 hands down.
-
I still prefer my ED30 MK5 to any MK6.
I do like the front of the MK6, but hate the back.
Maybe the GTI will look nicer 'in the flesh'......
-
What if they make a " " " Limited " " " Edition 35 ? :lipsrsealed: will you change your mind
-
golfs are meant to be social chameleons so I wouldn't expect a standard one to look 'nice'. The best golfs are the ones that you don't even notice.
GTis and R32s etc are completely different.
-
When I get my mk6 I'll think its the nicest of the lot too.
-
im really liking the gti now and i think i wont be able to resist buying one at launch, got to be 5 door for me now tho for family reasons. Whats putting me off tho is the missis driving about in it and knocking it about
-
Tell her to op it ! It's a mans car...
(awaits abuse for being a male pig :lipsrsealed: )

Is it?
