Title: REMOTE CONTROL

Does anyone know how to change the remote control battreies for  a 1999 1.8 GTI Its the type with a flip up ignition key for starting the car. What type and size of button batteries fit? can anybody help theres nothing in the cars handbook :(

As for the size, take it into a camera shop and ask them for one the same, a dealership will screw you over the price. You never know the camera shop may even change it for you.
