Recently just started getting a knocking from the rear offside tyre, thought it could be the bearing as there was a bit of play in it. so i've change the rear bearings but the noise is still persisting. i've check to make sure nothings rubbings and that all seems good. knocks even when there car isnt on and has 2 knocks each 180 degrees there tyre turns. any suggestions?
EDIT: its a golf gti 8v

are the wheels low offset? couldbe tyre weights fowling something. had the same on our polo, one of the hadnbrake cable clips snapped andthe cable was just hitting a wheel weight.
-
yeah there low offset, but i cant see anything hitting the wheel, all seems sound. it doesnt seem to knock when its jacked up only when its carrying the load of the car!
-
have a good look between the wheel and shock, also the brake dust shields? cant think of anything else it can be, maybe a mate could push the car along while you crawl along behind with a torch

ok cheers jonny, a new knock has just developed on the left side too :S im off to have a good scout, ill repot back later!
-
I know the exhaust is on the other side, but its worth a check.
