Took the Polo to the local stealership last night and dropped it off, ready for its pedal box recall work today.
Just been and got it, an when I got home realised that theres a huge chip out of the drivers door, like someones opened their door on it :'(
Rang them up and gotta take it bak next week so they can 'do an estimate' and 'take it from there' :-\
Hopefully they will pay for it, I reckon they should do
-
I reckon they should do too dubby but you'll have a nightmare trying to convince them that they did it :( Maybe if they are taking it in for an estimate without saying much they probably already knew about it.
-
ahhhhh dubby :)
*gives dubby a big big big big big hug*
:-*
the f**kin cu nts eh! >:(
-
The dude on the fone put me on hold, then he came back and said the mechanic didnt do it, so it must've been in their carpark.
BTW, they put it in the carpark, and went and got it out when I collected it.
To say I'm fookin gutted is an underestimate. :-\

is it a big franchised garage?
Tin
-
Yeah Tin, they have got two other garages under the same name too, but a bit further afield like
-
If they try and refuse to do this, its very simple.
Whenever you talk to them, stay calm, moving towards stormy by the end of the call. Keep them on the phone, even if you have to go silent for 30-60 seconds at a time when you reach an impasse. People hate silences and start saying stupid things. For some reason - silence builds presure like you would not believe. (Its a japanese technique).
Next thing to do, ball out the pratt your speaking to. When you've had enough of them say this to themdirectly "your pointless - let me speak to your manager".
You now get the manager. Do exactly the same thing to him. Until you get absolutely nowhere or he relents. If you get nowhere - speak to his manager.
Now, heres the key. No one wants you to speak to their manager. It makes them look bad. So if the manager of the whole garage then has a customer yelling at thier area manager - it makes them look bad. If a director of the company has a pissed off customer, it makes the area manager look lame.
And if the director cant help, ask him for VW head office number and speak to them. omeone authorised the repair to your car under warranty. Follow the chain. He will then look bad in front of the VW and so forth.
You climb the ladder for as long as you want until you get what you want.
If you get all the way to the top, threaten them that you will speak to Topgear producers, and explain your exsaperation to them.
You wont get that far. Its cheaper to repair your car than look bad in front of "their" boss, whoever that may be.
Works for me everytime. Last victim was Kwik Fit and I got a free tyre out of them.

good sense ;)

and if you're looking for why it is their fault, the only thing i can think of is:
"the car was in your care - it should of been returned to me in the condition that i left it with you - which it has not"
the fact they dont have their own car park and they left it in a public car park(?) is not your problem. quite simply - they had the keys to the car therefore it was in their care.
they may say that the damage could of been done before they got the car. bit of a problem here. they are right. its unprovable, but to your credit, you reported this to them as soon as you found the problem. that is now undeniable as its in your phone bill.
depending on how angry you want to get, the other final solution is to nip down to the court and get a county court summons and sue them for the damage. its cheaper to do the repair than risk a small claims court. especially the possiblility going against them.
if you need any advice. i'm good at this ;)

awww pooor little mint with a hole :'(
did u get any pics of it from the meet on wednesday jen?? id stick a load of pictures in the managers face declaring it a show car and how well looked after it is. proving that it wouldnt happen when in your care is the key to getting them to pay ;) :D
-

it is and it isn't. its a game of poker. right now Dubby has a really bad hand, so she just has to bluff. first person to blink loses.
i have played worse hands than this though. never catch me on a bad day 8)
if the person at the stealership says "how do we know this happened whilst in our care?" then the simple answer, and I have used it, is "are you calling me a liar?"
they now have a problem. if they say yes, then the next person up the chain you speak to you can say "they called me a liar" and be rightfully upset. Take it out of context very slightly, and you become the troublemaker you always wanted to be.
if they say no, then you can turn the argument back to "car was in your care".

thats a real shame, hope they pay for it.
i know a guy who had a mint rs500, he took it to a audio shop to have an alarm fitted, when he went to pic it up there was a great big crease in the wing, the place completely denied it and he didnt get a penny off them
:-[
good luck

^^ reminds me of my brother. he had an escort rst. paintwork was looking a little shabby so he put it into the local ford stealership for a service. told them to make sure it was locked in at night. he then climbed over the fence at night and used a pix axe on his car and 4 others that were sitting in the compound. He put a hole and scratches on every single panel of his car.
next day when they call him to say theyve been broken into he had to go down and see his car, he did an expert job of crying his eyes out. all new panels came free and a full respray gave him the most mint rst ive ever seen. ok, so it was naughty, but worth it ;D
-
Wow, thanks Tin. So far they seem to be reasonable about it, but if i get any sh!t, i will deffo use the 'are you calling me a liar' line ;D
Going down there on Tuesday.
Deffo wasn't there when I left it - it's quite an obvious bit of damage :-\
