Title: Advice on 1993 Golf 1.8 CL auto MK3
Post by: holeness_2005 on 14 March 2009, 20:34
Hi, I'm a first time poster looking for some advice about buying a used
Golf.

I visited a used car showroom today and saw a 1993 Golf 1.8 CL auto MK3
(K reg) 66k on the clock with full service history, clean interior, rust free
exterior with 2-month's MOT and 3-month's tax, marked up at £675.  There
were no visible problems with the engine.  I'd usually stay clear of any car
of this age but the Golf's reputation being what it is I decided to have a look.
Does this look too good to be true?  Will the car die on the road after a few
weeks?  Any comments/advice, good or bad would be MUCH appreciated.

Cheers...

To be honest it is not worth a lot more, however as long as it drives ok it should give you years of service.
