Finally made up my mind, was getting abit down and was really undecided wether to sell up and move on but my Dad has said dont get rid of it and I will help you out, Happy days...keeping the ED30
Right now my question.
I want to get it remapped (not sure which company yet) and I also want some better stopping power before I do remap, so do I need to upgrade anything else in order for me to get it remapped?? (wont be until my ban is up so I have got a bit of time to wait and save).
Such as:
DV valve...whatever that it??
Exhaust
Anything else...
Or can I run it on standard parts?
Im waiting on a price for the R32 front and rear brakes as my mate works for VW so will find out tomorrow and see if he can get them to sell on here.
Thanks for your time, patience and help. (Also want RNS510 and speed camera detector)

If you have fairly limited funds but are having a remap and want some upgrades, then I'd suggest.....
1. Brakes - if you have more power you'll need effective brakes. I'd suggest on a limited budget upgrading to Cupra fronts (Same as R32, but red calipers )
2. Suspension - If you can afford it, go for coilovers and ARB's. If not, at least uprate to something like Koni FSD's and H&R springs.
3. Extra associated power aids (but these can come much later if you wished) such as an air intake (or just filter), Exhaust, Forge DV etc, etc
The ED30 will be okay with just the remap on its own, but it is always better to uprate to balance the car back up again.

I was thinking about getting the front and rear brakes from the R32, can always paint them after. Just easier to get them and most likely cheaper as my mate works for VW.
Is the DV not essential then? Sure I read somewhere that the standard plastic one can crack under pressure?
What power will I be looking at 300ish based on the other standard parts??
Also any links to sites with parts for the GTI's would be apreciated. Im aware of Awesome...just looking for more. I fancy changing the black registration bit on the front so people know its a different colour rather than blending in with the paintwork. May do the Bulbs and Spacers aswel, just looking for a few cheapish mods to keep me busy at the moment.

got done by the old Bill and you want to remap!!!!
Mad decision!

Can you fit the cupra discs without having to replace the calipers or would you need a custom caliper bracket?
-
Bigger calipers aswel I believe. Bigger discs than the GTI. Seems strange that they didnt put the R32 brakes on the ED30.
Wont catch me next time

I agree. I still feel they should have put more onto the ED30 as standard - such as the R32 breaks.
I also feel some options, like the centre arm rest, highline and MFSW should also have been standard with the ED30. It makes the ED30 that bit more 'special' over the standard GTI.
Guess its a way for VeeDub to make a bit more money though ;)

Armrest is standard I think. Should have had xenons standard and RNS 510 and every other optional extra lol.

And all for the same price as the GTI

Front armrest is still an optional extra on the ED30 :(
