Title: Buying some wheels, Need Advice\pics
Post by: VWaxilMK1cab on 16 July 2004, 08:38
Guys, I'm stuck, I need some allys for my 1992 cabrio but I'm not sure if its gonna look sh!t!...

I was thinking about either 15x7 deep dish or some 16's

If 15x7, i like the Brock B2's

(Not sure if these are 7" or bigger?)
but should I get 195/50 tyres or 185/65. (what has the above got on?)
I like the rounded tyre look,

but is it only good for big fat split rims not 7"ers? any pics?

These black centered wheels look sweet and I'd love a set of  those, but are those 7x15 brock 2's on that white cab like mine on the left?...

Will I have to lower it?

If 16's then I think I want Momo Sports, but that could be a mammouth task to find some. So i'm not too bothered and like the look of all sorts of wheels.

Does anyone know of any alloys for sale? or seen any for sale anywhere? anything considdered!!

Few of my fav's...

I'm pretty sure that Danr had a set of 16 inch momo's for sale that came with his TSR powered Mk1, not sure if they were arrows or sports though.

Haven't seen him on the site for a long while though. Drop him a pm or an email and see if he still has them for sale  ;D

they are 14x9 at the back and 14x8 at the front - definatly not a good wheel for everyday driving, but they look fantastic.
I think that F-plate white cab is db Sams from this site

I live near denby dale, which is south huddersfield, north barnsley \ sheffield. Really near to Holmfirth so there's loads of windy bumpy roads and stuff up and down hills and resevoirs etc.
I'm quite close to the M1 so it's no probs to get to leeds in a morning ;) except for the damn traffic!!

Check out the Brock B2 in 15" on this site... http://styledynamix.co.uk/

Right, I've bought some 7x15" Brock B2's from styledynamix.co.uk they're really friendly and are going to try and get them to me for tuesday  :) :) :)
I went for the 195/45 tyres as it was only an extra tenner a corner ;)
and I got free delivery, alloy valves and some locking nuts.
All in for ?455
Stand by for pictures ;)

Oh, I also picked up 1/4 litre of paint to spray my eyebrow spoiler too on saturday, so soon as my mate has cleaned his gun & spray area (his garage!! currently occupied by his class 5 grasstracker)  then he'll spray my spoiler for me... stand by for those pics also.

Has anyone else had to mod their brake calipers on their cabiolet because they catch on their deep dished rims?

I've got 256mm discs and mk2 calipers sat inside mydeep dish 14's and they dont give me a problem. Very little clearance, but you only need a fraction for it to work.

Cheers m8, they're being delivered tomorrow so I'll fit em after work and see.
The guy at stylesdynamix said cab calipers were bigger than standard ones and they'd had to shave a few to stop them catching on the rims.
They do the mod for free tho, but they're near london and i'm near leeds!
