Hi everyone
Just had an interesing call from a friend of mine, basically asking if I was thinking about selling my car in the near future (around July)
I'm very tempted to sell, hang onto the money and buy a brand new mk6 gti when they go on sale
My question is how much would you give me for my current mk5 gti?

5 door
Manual
18" Monza's
Winter pack
Ipod prep & armrest
17000 miles on 56 plate
Apart from the above the car is as standard, anybody with any rough ideas as to what I should expect? bearing in mind it'll be July when it's sold, so roughly 20000 miles on the clock at that time. The 3yr warranty is up in December 09.
Opinions welcome......

about £14,500 I reckon.....

Just checked on a few valuation websites and could be more like £10000 - £12000, which is a bit of a shock to be honest!
must have something to do with the credit crunch, I might aswell keep it at those prices!

wow that is low!
Ive seen quite a few 05/55 with your kind of milleage for around the £10k mark TBH.
Nevertheless, I still dont think you should sell for that low!

I was thinking around £14k anyway
Anything less might aswell just keep it for a while

My opinion would be to keep the MKV and wait until the MKVI has been out a while and any "teething" issues resolved. The second hand MKV prices may have stabilised a bit by then.

Good advice, learnt from my Astra not to buy a car in its first year of production, had so many faults with it...I know i know its a Vauxhall but still it was out of order.
