Title: removing air flow meter

hi guys, my engine runs ok if i remove the air flow meter so can i leave it off to install my custom induction kit?(its the one thats close to air filter box)
ive unplugged it and the car runs sound but the ASR light comes on, will it cause damage driving it without it?

Car will not run correctly without it connected  :smiley:

you don't want to run the car without it, the MAF tells the ECU how much fuel to put in!

just a bit curious to why it ran fine with it off thats all, beens the car has 2 air flow meters thought it might be ok lol...silly me
just hoping to save a few bob using an induction off me old car, gona have to buy a new one now lol,

Your MAF is knackered which is why it idles better when unplugged, but like the others have said, you can't actually run around with it unplugged for long periods. ;)

thanx guys thought fook it and went and bought an induction kit yesterday, green filter with custom pipe work get pics up soon to show, soundgreat now even get a twoosh sound ..........im well chuffed
