Right, ive decided i really want a g60 after sunday. What i cant decide is whether to finish my car and do a g60 transplant,or sell it and go and buy a g60 mk2 ???Would appreciate some advice, cheers
Paul

get rid of your car and get a g60 ;)
converted g60 just dont keep there value, do the rite thing, get a left hooker ;)
your car is real nice buy the way paul,
i know ive sed it before, but if your looking for a new home for those 90's, you know who to pm for,
cash waiting :)

Got to agree with marcus on this one Paul, dont do a transplant it'll probably cost you a load of coin anyway, go for the real deal. You'll have no probs selling that little beauty :) There was a red rallye at supergolfs for 4.5k, nice :)
-
your obsessed with that bloody rallye gibby! :D
he sed g60, not rallye :P
paul, your 1st port of call has to be supergolfs, check out the elec blue one at ?3495 mmmm nice
www.supergolfs.co.uk
gibby your agreeing woth me too much for my liking :D

i think its gonna depend on how much u love ur car mate. if u have spent alot of time and money getting that shell, styling, interior etc all ur own way, then why not go for a conversion. would be right hand drive, cheaper to insure and something thats urs down to the last bolt.
just my opinion ;)

I was thinking that Paul might as well go the whole hog that's all :) Yes I am obsessed with that Rallye and yes I am agreeing with you too much lately for my liking too ;) I think I need a rest from this site ;D.........nah, never :D
-
^oh u no its bad if u agreein with marcus! ;D :P
Only kiddin hun!
Dinx :-*

No, you're right Dinx, I need a sit down I feel a bit faint ;)
-
yeah but your car is minty-er than a whole box of smint's paul. g60 engine's are pretty cheap now as everyone is going 20v. easy fit as well. tricky decision I know but your car being so damn clean and such a good colour I would go for the engine swap route :)
-
* Paul secretly wishes he hadnt started this thread as he's even more undecided :)
-
split it and keep the good bits. Obviously you won't need the arches on your current one, but mine will benifit from them nicely ;D
-
Thanks for the comments everyone, have been thinking about it today, and as i have spent quite a bit on my car getting it the way i want it,i might as well do a transplant.I am not too worried about it not being worth as much as a genuine g60 as i am planning on keeping it and improving it as and when :)
-
can find a corrado G60 easy these days ::)
-
theres always a third way.....
why not keep it, and get an original. one car for each foot.
i have even started looking on ebay.de for a 16v F&I to be honest. for my sins. keep 1906vc of course. but get another lil run around.
-
good on you geezer ;)

err... might be abit late to chuck my ten pence worth in as it osunds like you've already made up your mind....
if oyu've got a gti shell and body then oyu might as well keep it. I went against a couple of g60s at Pod which were conversions, they were sweet looking motors and will still hold value provided gthey're not dogs to start with!
If you do go down the original route, ignore what Marcus is saying about that blue one at supergolfs, I've seen it and it's a bit of a dog. no where near the condition of your motor. Same goes for the green rallye he's got on there....
It might be worth called Steve at Pitstopdevelopments - 07855846499
and telling him what you want to do. See if he can source an engine for you, they could definately do the transplant and would be cheaper than a lot of places like *cough designa dubs*. And to be honest they know their superchargers better than most people ;)
You'll need to upgrade your brakes an stuff.

I have to agree here, I have heard some nasty stories about cars that come from there and have seen a lot of dogs esp bad rallyes that have come from there. If looking at there cars take a real good look at them.
There stuff is always over priced!

hey geezer! :P
it looked nice from the pictures! :D
and converted g60's dont hold there value anywhere near like how origional g60's do.
how could they? ???
-
depends what you are trying to achieve. good g60 = 3k minimum and will be lhd, next to no history but available with good spec and interesting colours.
conversion = buy a good 8v, engine swap and sort the brakes = 3k ish to end up with a rhd g60. paul's silver mk2 is that tidy that i would never sell it. i would happily eat my dinner off it :) engine swap is the only answer.
