Sorry if this has been asked before but i couldnt find the info i wanted in the search.
My digifant in very smokey on start up so figure the valve seals are shot which gives me an excuse to recondition the whole head. Is it a hard to do this yourself, what tools would i need?
Ive seen this on ebay....

i know it says 1.6 8v but must mean 1.8, seems abit of a bargain. What do you guys think?
-
Must be a MK1 Golf GTi head if it's 1.6.
-
Im pretty sure mk1's are 1.8 too
-
Late MK1 GTis were 1.8. Earlier ones were 1.6 though.
-
The very first Mk1 GTi are 1.6, after about 1983 they were 1.8

ok so that ebay head is out the question. Does anyone know of any how to guides to do it yourself or where i could pick one up?
