Title: mk2 running rough

my 8v digi has recently been running a bit rough, basicly if i accelerate, and let off the throttle and dont change gear and engine brake it kangero's a bit then goes normal, and the idle has recently been a bit ify, any ideas? i was thinking its the isv but i work 6 day weeks 8 til 6 so need a good idea of what to look out for as il be doin it on my lunch breaks lol

Check your vacuum hoses for leaks, then the overrun cutoff valve.

The first thing I would check is the timing. It sounds as if it could be a little retarded.

its only started doin it recently, had more toruble today, whenever i got stuck in stop start traffic the main fuel pump starts buzzing then it missfires and cuts out,its always been a bit ify wen the gaugue is low on fuel so im gna do the lift pump first, looks like iv got a busy weekend :sad:cheers for the replies

^^ Replace the fuel filter and clean the mesh filter in tank.

I would not go for the complcated things yet. Do the things you can get at and go through a process of elimination or you could be wasting loads of time with no reward.
