Title: Throttle body clean - update!

Ok, i did the throttle body clean on my agu turbo, because the revs would flutuate when i pulled up to a junction, below 1k fluctuation.

Now ive done it, the revs seem to sit higher, ie above 1k, will go down to normal tick over (900rpm) if left long enough, is this normal?

Will the car learn again, as i only did it a couple of days ago and onky driven about 4 times.

good good, it's like the anti-stall things, when you change gear, the revs stay high for a few secs,so if you change quick the car lurches forward sorta thing.

Weirdly after cleaning mine it was spot on straight away  :drool:

I did mine and it was fine, but before I started the engine after putting it all back together, I turned the ignition on (so the lights on the dash light up) and left it for 30 odd seconds. This lets the sensors in the throttle body adjust and reset. You know its when its stopped doing its thing as the high pitched squeal stops..

Yeah did mine the other day, coud'nt bellieve how dirty it was. Just turned ignition on and left it a bit the started the car. All seems fine. Did disconnect the battery though.

cheers lads, tried the 30 sec thing and hasnt worked, maybe ill disconnect the batt at the weekend.

I took mine off a couple of weeks ago to clean it and it was alreday nice and clean in there perhaps they done it on the last service?

My 1.8T sits at about 1400RPM when cold and goes down to 900ish after a minute or so depending how cold it is. If the car is warn it will sit at 900RPM straight away.

How long does yours take?

quite a while, not as quick as i imagine it would, even when warm it takes a good 5secs to drop down to 900rpm :undecided:

dont forget the 30 sec waiting after the TB clean is for dbw cars as it needs to realign the TB....AGU is different!! also tickover after sec airpump has switched of is 760rpm  :wink:
