Hello!
How much work is needed? how different are the 110bhp PD and 130bhp PD engines? What bits do I need and what problems can I expect to encounter?
Thanks!
Jack

There must be someone who knows???

It will fit and has been done but not sure what is needed.

Anything is possible with the right amout of skill and money. You would need the engine and the loom inc ECU. The gearbox if you wanted the 6 speed.
Us mk3ers might not know the diffrance between the 110 and the 130 but ask in the mk4 section.

A guy on ed38 is running the 150bhp spec engine, don't think he had any real issues with fitting it but more with getting it run, if it is from a mk4 you will need everthing including the clocks.

The 110 isn't PD, therefore it's not as econimical. You want the PD115,PD130 or PD150! Also these will be later engines!

There is a MK4 90bhp and 110bhp NON PD I have the PD 115 and that pulls hard, but the 130 has more range and torque, the 150 i would love to have a go in  I also have a 90bhp MK3 which is deffo faster than the MK4 90bhp so what ever u put in with the MK3 being lighter it will be faster, the biggest problem is fitting the electrical side of it as it all needs changing, i would fit a MK4 dash tbh, the engine fits fine, 115, 130 and 150 will all fit the same.

okay cool, thanks for your replies!
About the electrical side, what needs changing? ie complete loom/ecu/instrument panel (also how the make instrument panel fit)
Cheers :)

Your going to need everything from a mk4 including the dashboard really.

and the dash fits in no problem?

No it will need to be modified.

Iv driven all these as i work in a VW/Audi specialist i think there is a big difference in pull between all the Bhp range of engines. I think some, the 150bhp are a six speed box and a nice drive lovely engine all round. Sounds like it could be alot of hard work for a conversion to me though.
