Post by: graham on 15 July 2004, 06:55
Does anyone know how to change the batteries on the remote control for a first reg March 1999 Golf 1.8 GTI 125 BHP. Theres no info on this in the cars manual how long do the batteries last, is it tricky to do this, what type and size are these button batteries, anyone know ????

Is it the flip-key style ? if so there's a little slot on the back about 3mm wide where the 2 halves join. Stick a screwdriver in and push the 2 halves apart. It takes a bit of grunt the first time but DO NOT !! try to lever the halves in any direction other than away from eachother.

Chris.
