Title: Instrument centre display
Post by: Hulmie on 10 March 2009, 18:27
I am unsure if my centre display on my speedo is working as i havent seen it light up once since having the car. I get the ignition lights, oil light etc when i start the car but i think there is a display below this that isnt working. I drive a 99 reg GTI Turbo, can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a display there and if so does it have its own fuse, if so what number and where is it located.

Thanks

Some early cars didnt have this feature.

Its the MPG and trip computer. Is your MPG displayed in the other display under the speedo?

yeh the mpg is displayed under the rev counter.

In that case the big red display won't work!

He already said he has the computer as it shows in the rev counter. I had a 98 S plate back in 2002 and indeed the early cars don't have the red pixel computer display like the later cars (2000 model year I think it changed). What should display in the middle part is low fuel warning and low screen wash (if winter pack fitted). These light up yellow with a "beep". Hope this helps...
