haha! geet you an your friendly demener!
Possible drove over something which knocked a sensor out? that would cause carnage with EM
from the back though, thats random, can you be more area specific?
-
Woah, give it time mate.
Try posting in the MK4 section for starters. Someone will help, just give it some time, there doesn't seem to be any Diesel experts on at the moment, post in the MK4 section and wait a bit, someone will help.
Len was trying to help.

and hello and welcome
try the mk4 section or garage section but to be honest its a bit of a brief fault statement.
have you tried re starting it ?
has it got DIESEL in it

It is the worst thing that can happen to a Diesel. And it sounded from your post that you hadnt driven this car before.
What kind of bang was it? I mean did it sound as if something big dropped off? Or was it like a backfire, like a firework going off?
-
ok.. ok sorry guys :embarassed:
its just the car is on the side of the road in the middle of no were!
the bang seemed 2 come from the back wheel, off side! :undecided:
didnt really sound like anything had fallen off...... mayb like as if i drove over something??!!! going round a rt hand bend...
the battery has been playing up! and its only just had a service!!! ive only had it 2 weeks...
-
Time to join the AA or RAC then! Doubt if anything we could suggest would provide a quick fix!
Does sound as if either a sensor has dropped off or something has stopped working causing a misfire, which on a diesel tends to be a major timing issue.
-
ok, thanks m8
-
You are welcome Charlotte! Sorry cant be more help!
-
sounds like a pipe has popped off :undecided:
the black smoke would indicate a boost leak along with the bunny hopping - had it happen to me when my intercooler pipe came off but the car didn't try to stall :undecided:
have you looked under the bonnet for any obvious signs of something missing?
-
thanks, it was the turbo pipe that had come off it....
think its on tight enough now.... ta
-
Glad one of us here was of help!
