Title: MK4 rear calipers
Post by: ReDBull on 10 March 2009, 12:22
I have a pair of rear calipers for a MK4 golf to fit on to my MK2 golf GTI. However one of the pistion seals has been damaged at some point and needs replacing. I've asked at GSF and they told me I would need to replace the hole caliper. Is this true? If so would the seal from the MK2 caliper that it is replacing fit?

go to VW, they'll sell you a rebuild kit for it. ideally you need a proper caliper rewind tool though

ah that could be bad news! if you work the handbrake lever the piston should gradually wind out, if not whoever messed about with it last has trashed the handbrake mech!
