Kerbed both front wheels last week (previous 23 months of ownership without a scratch).
Silly really - mounted a kerb in the dark looking the wrong way at something very nice
Realise this is an old subject but did we ever get the exact paint code for repairing Pescara's on the ED30 ?????
Otherwise - anyone selling two new wheels
Eyes front from now on
-
This is still subject to conjecture, but the nearest so far is VW Titan Grey Metallic. With variations in colour from batch to batch you still may not get a spot on match though!
-
I also want to know if anyone has had just one alloy matched to the others as most refurbishment places recommend all 4 doing.
The colour is Titan Grey I think??
Probably be cheaper to have all four refurbished than buying 2 new wheels.
-
Vw quoted someone on another forum around £350....per alloy!!
That is going on for £700 for two alloys, so a refurb and full paint of 4 wheels would be less than that!

Yes correct VW Titan Grey, confirmed by a very good friend, VAG employee for 20 years expert ETKA user - VW Titan Grey, if you go to your main dealer Pescara's are actually called Rockingham and they are not cheap. If you are as OCD as I am, on the inside of the wheel it is stamped BBS CH

And I too confirmed that ages ago. However, there is TWO different part numbers for Titan Grey - and users here found that neither was a match.

Are you sure? I thought the Pescaras are just listed as 'BBS-Design', and I thought that Rockinghams were the black Monza 2s? :undecided:

Thanks for the advice Guy's - I will try the VW Titan Grey first (will try it on something other than the wheel first to see how close it is).
I will let you know how it looks

Remember the paint colour changes slightly with the laquer top coat, so give it a go with top coat on a sample piece of material too :nerd:

I solved my curbing by selling the car
Titan Grey is hopeless, dont waste your money its far too dark.
As I posted in an older thread, Halfords Silver Wheel paint is ok for touchups and was a closer match than Titan Grey ever was.

I bought both Titan Grey touch up sticks from VW and neither were a close enough match for my liking. In the end I managed to find a body shop that had some of the paint in stock. Managed to presuade them to give me a small sample. They paint itself as far as I can remember comes in either 500ml or 1L tins!

I now see they changed the name in ETKA - upto and including 2007, they called that part number 'BBS-Design', and from 2008 on, changed it to 'Rockingham' - and as Hurdy pointed out, it is actually ET51.

See my post here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=109161.0
they took a colour match from the wheel that was sent to them, and it is spot on
