hi everyone, this is my first post on here i have just bought my first mk2 gti 1.8 8v 1991. I used to own a mk3 vr6 but the gti is great much more fun.
when i bought the gti i thought i would take the head off and change the valves, guides, stem seals, springs and camshaft to a piper ultimate road. Heres where it got interesting when i got the head off and turned it over most of the waterways were absolutely rotten ( (i will post pics up tomorrow.)
So where do i find a replacement head i have searched everywhere as i want to start with a good base not a welded one, be it recon or just the cast.
Any help would be great thakyou in advance.

I too plan on reconditioning the head or changing it for a next to new one. Some specialist take your old head in part-ex against a recondtioned one. I emailed a place local to me today for a price, i'll let you know when it comes through.

they're just round the corner from me, try doing some searches on google you may find somewhere local to you.

I'd get the head acid dipped (or something like that) to clean it right out. then get all the ports matched to your inlet and exhaust if your really into it :)
No need to buy a new one really
