Title: petrol tank help

hi every 1. right i want to buy a petrol tank for my mk1 golf gti 1.8 1983 A reg and so that i dont get the wrong tank is there any noticable differances between all the different tanks for the mk1 i.e the cab, non gti, caddy, deasels and non english mk1s. because i will be getting the tank powder coated before i take the other one off of my car so i dont want to get it powder coated and then find out it dont fit  :sick: so if any one can help that would be gr8 thanx ian

MK1 GTI tank is same as early cab/rocco. later cab & rocco use a lift pump inside the tank and a different filler neck.  Early injection tank has the pump outlet on the side at the bottom, which makes it quite easy to id
