I've only ever seen a few. I've never seen a big bumper monza blue, so I think it was only during the few years that 16v went into small bumpered models.

Not so.
there was a run of golfs with a bright blue metallic paint job from factory. Similar to colour above.
-
that isnt bright blue metalic, its a bit too 'blue'. plus car is too old to have been BBM

Agreed.
Look at the split window on front doors, pre 86/87 that makes it?? so an early mk2
Could be that latter end blue like suggested just sprayed on a rebuilt motor
-
i stuck the big bumpers on myself, but i still only seen 1 other in monza blue, i seen loads of oak green, an they say they are vrare,
-
i had a monza blue jetta 16v. very rare, and i made the breed that little bit rarer :lipsrsealed:

bost it up did ya, :embarassed:

No you mention it, how rare exactly are oak greens? Does anyone have numbers or percentages made of that variety?

surely they are the most common?...
-
Oak Green seem to be pretty common but a nice colour so quiet sought after.
No idea of numbers imported but there seem to be quiet a few late model 16v in Oak.
-
Wasnt there a nice `baby blue`? - like kind of solid non metallic bright blue too? Sure I saw an 8v for sale on the bay a while ago that looked quite nice

My educated guess is that its either a PPG special pearl mix, or possibly House of Kolor (HOK) true blue, defo not a standard VW colour, as it as no "dirty" fliptones down the side of the car, which is what you get on cheap OE colours, also painted slam panel is a giveaway that it been painted...

Got to be the one of the most common colours to be honest.
-
Yes probably more common than people think but i would say Tornado Pink is the most common colour, certainly on here anyway. Oh and then theres Rusty Black which is also fairly common and lastly Dirty Atlas Grey pops up quite frequently.
-
Think someone took offence to the "common Oak Green" comment.....
