hi  does anyone know the tolerances for skimming a head how much is acceptable to take off its on a 1.8 16v kr engine any advise would be brilliant

One light skim is about it to be honest.

a couple of thou,  0.05mm, if its never been skimmed before and aint warped

iirc  the mimumum thickness for the head is  117.5mm  measured through a head bolt hole.     not 100% on that tho should say in your haynes or bently manual
