Ive got a golf gti 8valver with a full magnex stainless system is there any ways of tweaking the way it sounds as im after more of a raspy (R32 sound) rather than just loud as it is now, is this possible?!

I had an awesome overrun rasp on my last exhaust. But it wasn't so much an exhaust as it was a straight through centre, standard mid and homemade backbox
Only way I would have thought to change the tone of an exhaust would be to replace parts on it, that or drill a hole in it

smaller boxes, less wadding.

My mk1 had an amazing sound to it but it was straight through stainless with no center box.
I've got a full magnex system on my mk2 and it's not so loud but i prefer it.
For what my opinions worth I would live with the noise yours makes rather than start messing with it

yea cheers guys...its probably best as it is

if its bearable then stick with it. i have a full powerflow system with stainless 4 branch manifold, but i'd much rather have a quieter system as it is quite 'boomy' and gives me a headache! :undecided:

i have a new vag backbox and mid section with a supersprint center pipe (no resonator) and it gives a great gti rasp

good exhaust that ay nate. worth the wait
