I was wondering if anyone knows a company who will offer 1 or 2 day long insurance for a 20yr old driver. I have been looking for some time now, and every company i find only cater for over 21's.
Basically im wanting to buy a golf mk3 soon, and drive it back home, ready for when im home from uni.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your going to struggle,
a, cos of your age,
b, the car
do you have an older mate / family who could drive it home for ya and take out a day insurance ????

What engine is the MK3?

I would be getting a gti, so 2L 8v.
It shouldn't make much difference on the engine size, as i know i can afford the yearly insurance on this car, so a 1 or 2 day cost will not be a problem.
The reason i don't want to take out a yearly cover now, is that i wont be driving the car for a few months. I just don't want to miss out on a cheap/good car that may become available before the time i need a car.

try dayinsure.co.uk - dunno if they will cover you or no but.
alternatively take out proper insurance and cancel it within the cancellation period but you will pay an admin fee.

i had a small problem going from a mk3 golf 1.8se to a 2.0 8v gti, obv been with quinn for nearly 2 years coz the premiums were the lowest, when i rang um up they said they wer unsure wether they could insure me on the gti as i wasnt 21.. the lady came back and said as id been with them for ''so long'' (year n 9 months lol)?that they could insure me for an extra 39 quid for 3 months.. the fella i bought it off paid 120 quid for 2 days insurance.. try ringin ur insurance company if uve previously been with them see wat they hav 2 say!

I got this a couple of years back for 2 days from direct line which cost around 24 quid. I was over 21 though so that might stand in your way.

I used tempcover.com, £18 for one day!
Cheers
