Hello,
Just decided to sell my Anniversary model and maybe try a Mk5 GTI and just wanted to know if there are any things to look out for? Think we will go for a Manual if we get one with the 2.0T engine (are they all the same) I know they do a later Edition 30 model but are all the early ones the same engine/bhp? thanks for any help/pointers.

Yes all GTIs incl ED30s are 2.0TFSIs.
I believe all MKV GTIs are 200bhp and ED30s 230bhp.
Earlier models had some advantages (like no visible aerial) but a fair few cons.
The only things I would really go for are highline and xenons.

the same could be said about most cars though and VW's have always been more expensive than their competitors

VW's have always held their value better in the market, i suppose this is down to the overall quality of the vehicle.
