is their any air box mods to do on a standed 16v airbox just toke my k&n filter off and put standed air box back on do any 1 know which is better
-
drilling them is meant to help
-
as said by sharpie in so much detail... you can drill/cut the standard airbox on the side closest the wing to allow quicker air intake, this combined with a performance panel filter is the best method in my eyes. very marginal differnece between this and a cone filter with correct cold air feed.

ok cheers had a cheapy cone air filter on it so had to take that off seems better i think
-
remove the trumpet in the box too!!
-
ok mate which 1 new with these dont know any thing about them is their any pics on here
-
i did the above mods on my 16v, i used an omp panel filter, cut a big chunk from the lower half of the airbox (front right), removed the trumpet and i would say i have notice some gains, i have also ported the throttle bodie.
not sure on actual gains or anything but it makes more noise.

a little more detail would help as just cutting the airbox in any old place could render it useless..

You have to cut it on the wing side and front ONLY. You can either cut an area out of it, or get a drill out and drill holes and amke it look like a swiss cheese. Make sure though you ONLY drill the lower half of the airbox, drilling the top half would mean you have to buy a new airbox. You HAVE to drill below the line of the air filter, and make sure you drill only wing side and front. The trumpet is the small 90 degree angled "trumpet" that runs from the front of the airbox to the inside of the wing, simply remove it with a screw driver or you might need to drill it out.

just about hit the nail on the head, but there is another trumpet in the top half of the airbox.. its up to you wether you want to remove the top one, i did.
