Title: new brakes time
Post by: Guy on 06 March 2009, 12:21
oooh what to do...

right ho chaps... need advice and a shopping list for new brakeys!

so - will prob go for new pads F & R and new discs on Front only (unless the discs are a bargain)

I want to do 'a bit more than a standard' upgrade

i was thinking Greenstuff pads... Horney recommended Tarox grooved (not drilled) discs

anything else that I should consider/can easily upgrade? will be popping to GSF this afternoon with any luck so would be aiming to get the items from there

I got green stuff front pads, and the grooved bremo max discs from gsf on the front. Work just fine!

Did the brakes on mine not too long ago, stuck with the standard  front discs and red stuff pads. Never had brakes as good as these. Never had greens so couldnt comment.

i went for the brembo-max grooved from GSF and they sorted a good price out to.

new front and rear discs and pagid pads all round for £220.

i also replaced the abs rings which took the light out off my dash they were about £6.00 each.

 oh and it does stop nice to not a noticeable difference from standards but didnt stamp on them before

popped into GSF today and although they didnt have the items in stock was thinking about the brembo max grooved discs and the greenstuff pads - seems like a good combo

thanks for your advice guys - is there an easy upgrade route for calipers? or is it all a PITA?

Some people hate on the green stuff pads, but tbh these people are people who dont use their brakes.

I have them with the brembo max discs and i can stop like a bullet. lol
