Title: More dreamin.
Post by: Rodriguez on 06 March 2009, 10:08
Seen this guys?

http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/865312.htm

Would supplement my 8v nicely I reckon.  Right colour,  right mileage,  right spec.   This would be a dream start for my next toy.

Not cheap though.

cos its got gold wheels!

nah i agree Ben, the only reason being is it has low miles, im sure it is in good condition etc but its still an 18 year old car. i thought that i paid alot for mine @ 2700 and that was IMO mint. the only person this would attract would be a collector as it looks all original.

That is a hell of alot of money for that car. I doubt I would get anywhere near that for my G60, which is a lor rarer car.

id never pay that much for a mk2 in that condition, yes it has low mileage...but it should be flawless for that kinda money. 3k max... and even that is pushing it. 3800k is mk2 20vt dollar imo.

That does seem steep, especialy as I managed to pick up about 5months ago a FSH '91 Oak Green 16v shade over 100k, box of spares, half tank, 8months MOT 9months tax, 16in BBS, HPI clear all for a princely sum of 320.00... Some places would add another 0 to that price and it probably cost me about that to replace it like for like... Sale of the century? Appreciate it was exceptional circumstances but shows bargains are out there.
Guy was emigrating and needed the car gone and I was in the right place right time.

Replaced wheel bearing, clutch (included), replaced dodgy vacum hoses to sort rough idle and transformed the car. Thermostat needs replaced to be completely perfect but swapping over to ABF power so it can wait...

The history they mention doesnt exactly back up the mileage though since there is a 6 year gap between 1996 and 2002

Its crazy money tbh
