Title: ABS light on.
Post by: jparry on 12 July 2004, 23:10
The ABS light comes on with the ignition and when it should go off it flickers but stays on.

Any help?

Dirty sensor / dodgy sensor???

I had a load of work done on my brakes (new discs and pads) and the day after I picked it up the ABS light stayed on for a few minutes, flickered, then went out.  Since then it has behaved as expected!  I put it down to a bit of dirt or something on the sensor.

Does it stay on or flicker?

If it stays on its a duff sensor. If it flickers could be just dirt.

Had similar probs on my Mi 16 - that turned out to be a loose conn on the ABS pump.

Whatever - best way is a circuit check, so prob a trip to an Auto electrician.
