Title: actuator movement???
Post by: gti_shaun on 04 March 2009, 18:38
ive picked up a AGU as a donor car to put the engine in my 2.0 8v , and when you rev it the actuator doesnt seem to move at all, i know from other turbo'd engines that it usually moves a bit, and obviously it will have the full movement when under load(driving it). it seems to drive ok, but ive never drove one before and not sure how much pull they have standard. thanks.

no its not got a boost gauge, i will defo be fitting one when engine goes in my car, i know its got some boost as i closed the intake pipe by hand and reved it and it expanded the pipe, just wanted make sure the engine is all fine before i swap it, and if not iron any probs out post to fitting it. just thought it was wierd that the actuators not moving.

Also when i rev it even if only to 1100, then let go the idle drops to 600rpm ish then sorts its self out, thought it may have a air leak, but could it be the throttle body wants a clean maybe?
