This is the equivalent of the golf mk2 Brazilian spec.

and this is the mk3, more or less the same but bumpers looked longer and wider. Very nice.

yup it does. and rear end looks like from a mk1.
-
sure I've seen something similar to the top one with a front mounted aircooled/type I motor
-
The top one is a Gol not a Golf, not sure about the 2nd one.

yes the top one is a gol. thats what VW Golfs are called over tehre, the mk3 however is called golf. You do get some imported mk3s and mk4s but they are extremly expensive, and they are not gtis, they are 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 engines.
-
Not really. They don't sell the Golf down there but the Gol is not instead of, it sits below the Fox in the lineup of models as the bargain basement entry.

you been there? no. I have. You do see golfs around but few of them. I saw a standard non gti mk4 up for sale at a dealers and it was priced at over £20K, and the car was used. They are VERY expensive over there hence seeing very few cars, people cant afford them + they have very very high insurance group due to them being targeted by thefts. My dad had 3 mk3 GTI's in brazil, all 3 of them nicked at gun point...

I know its not called a golf...
thats why i said This is the equivalent of the golf mk2 Brazilian spec.
Its a VW gol and i believe most of them have the 1.6 carb engine fitted. Its called a GOL and THAT one in the picture is the equivalent of what here would be the MK2. They also have mk1, mk3, mk4 and mk5 there but they dont look anything like the golfs in europe, they are all GOLs. The only golfs there are very expensive, and rare, the mk3 i pictured IS a golf, but the mk3 and mk4 GOLF are the only GOLFs you can buy, there is no MK1, MK2 or MK5 like they have in europe.
