Title: No spark

Hello everyone,
New member, I've just bought my first mk3 GTi 8v on ebay, I haven't recieved it yet but it hasn't got a spark. Where is the best place to start? It also has a private plate J*** DUB is it worth anything?

yeah plate is probably worth a few hundred to the right person. I was going to get M7 DUB for £300 from dvla, but now its gone. So going to get M12E VW, as thats as close as you get to mike. lol.

As for the spark, would first try the plugs, leads, dizzy, rotar arm, coil etc. working back from the plug basically.

Okay got it home today and there is a spark although the dizzy cap was on the wrong way round. Fuel is gettin through but still nothing!!
Borrowed a mates compression tester tonight so thats first job tommorow. Anyone any ideas of what else it could be?
