... For a '97 met black vr6 highline with 130k on teh clock
totally unmolested
some rust, but standard for age of teh car
5
door
FSH, recent service/new exhaust. 12 months tax but MOT expires end of this month
Been offered it by a colleague but really not sure what a realistic offer would be?!?!
any ideas?
Thanks

depends on the rust really if its bad and the mot is running out then you would probly have to get it done for the mot.. if the rust is nothing major then i would say between 1k-1.6k :undecided:
-
yeh i'm not too sure how bad it is, i think its just a couple of spots really. Should be taking a look later in teh week
been doing some research and some people are getting uptowards 3 grand for these with similar mileage!
crazy, cheers tho

I have seen some overpriced highlines around but a realistic price would be £1200-1400 in the condition and mileage you quote.... a total minter with under 100k would easily add £600-800 to that price
-
£1500 tops if it has rust.
-
I'd say £1200-£1400 too, buyers market, more so with big engines!
-
I'm asking 1500 for my 96 Mulberry Highline, 3dr, 140k, VW service history up to 113k, still mot'd, has minor arch rust but could easily be put right. Rest of the car, including seats, is mint, the rear seat doesn't even look sat in!
-
I`m after 2000 for my VR 69k miles FSH full heated leather no rust anywhere, mint underneath no squashed jacking points, bodywork more or less spotless couple of light marks here and there drives spot on and averages 31mpg 12mths mot 6mths tax (sorry for the plug)

-
Not all VR6's came with VR6 splitters dude.
Both of ours (mine & dads) came with the boring splitter!

As did my friends Highline :)
-
only vr6's upto mid 95 came with deep splitter, and the black arches also became a no cost option until they were deleted totally in mid 96

wow that was a real bad move on vw's part :undecided: did the highlines come with body coloured bumpers like the cl/gl?
-
all models from 96 had full body coloured bumpers and the vr had the gti front splitter and no plastic arches
-
Also, Highlines never came with side skirts!
-
Would pay 1k for this vr6. Cam chain was last done when?
And the rust worries me.

Get them to tell you what price they are looking for,Then you can point out the faults and knock them down.you never know they might want less than you were going to offer in the first place

Good advice right there! Get a guide price from them
