To be honest it is a lot but look at it another way it works out at one per year (almost)
Most I have every had is 7, will not buy a car with more than 4 to be honest as it makes resale harder.
My 1996 Mk3 I have just sold had 3 including me.
-
was not bothered how many it had just wondering if any ony one else had one with more
-
i am the 10th owner of my mk3 gti.

From working in the trade ive noticed that sporty cars and Cabs always have more owners, The most ive seen is 15 on a MK1 cab. Most shocking was an 03 plate astra Turbo Cab this was in 05 so it was only 2 1/2 years old, 7 owners! had been repossesed 4 times!

nice one i knew it might be a dog when i bought it but surprising it is not as bad as i thought always have to have a new car every 2 years with my job (driving instructor) so as my 8v never goes wrong 6000miles in10years (jinxed it know) needed something cheap to fix up when board use to be a coach body repairer and still cant help fixing things , any way is the record safe keep them coming .max

Just checked with my mate he had a 1999 T Vectra Gsi and he was the 14th owner when he sold it, which was a lot in 10yrs.
-
Just to go the other direction slightly, I have a mate with a '53 Ford Pop (I'm into 'rods as well ) and he's only the 2nd owner! Bought it from an area nurse who bought it new to do her rounds in!
-
I've never seen anything with 18 keepers lol, did it have any SH?
-
it had some not a lot but enough for it to be a bargain  did expect to do things to the car no heaters sorted (new matrix , for some reason it was by passed ) new pads ft and rear . new beesting arial, list goes on but not bothered ,when its done its done, it can come out to play
-
yep i agree.
cabs/sports cars tent to have alot more owners. A guy once said to me ''ohh no its had 4 owners..THAT IS TOO MUCH!.
It was a 12+ year old car. Some people dont have a clue!
18 owners does make resale harder though. As long as its pukka with you and at the right price you cant go wrong.

My old Mini 1275 GT has 17 previous owners before me
-
thats nothing, my mates last 8v gti on a j-plate (91) had 23 previous owners!!! i was the 24th but we never swapped the log book over as i broke it for spares, and it had only done 107k, each owner cant have done many miles in it lol

I looked at a Bmw 316 Compact the weekend, was close to buying it but 10yrs old with 11 owners and the last guy only had it 2 months, made me think something was wrong with it.
