hi there, i own a mk2 16v 1988, in my local scrappy there is a mk3 16v, what items of the engine would be a upgrade 2 use on mine if any,

Either just the 2.0L bottom end transplanted underneath your k-jet head, or the whole ABF engine + loom into your Mk2. Use the search function to find out more.

Can't think of any other component that would upgrade the power of your Mk2.

some geezer told me 2 have the inlet manifold, as this will be 50mm, as mine is only 42mm, what would yhis achieve

Use the 2.0 ABF bottom end on you head, you would a good gain in torque.

fit the whole ABF,    evrything and the ecu  it's not hard and much better job  and better all round car
