To start, what lovely day to take a GTI out for a spin!!!
Bought an alarm for my car, as the imobalizer still works i was just looking for a basic alarm and also would work the central locking. The 'DISTRUCTIONS' are OK but I am struggling to match them up with the wiring diargam on my car. I am trying to identify the loom that feeds the motor switch for the air compresor and the easiet place to tap into them. Hunted high and low and the forum and GOOGLE with no luck!!

loom that feeds the motor switch for the air compressor? mmmmmm isnt all that stuff in the boot with the pump?

if i remember the diagram for the central locking each does have a switch. i thought the main loom for the central locking was on the pump?

i was looking into this also, but decided against it as it was a cheapo alarm, and if some chav decided to walk round a car park chancing it with one of these alarm gadgets that runs through loads of unlocking codes then he wud be straight into mine, so decided to leave the central locking out.
however, there are cables in each door you can crimp off, but this would be far too much hassle, so the best place to do it is at the actual pump in the boot, on the plug that connects into the pump there is a pin for a signal to unlock and lock the doors. I cannot remember off the top of my head which pins they were and i think i had to guess at them as the circuit diagrams kicking about doesnt give an explanation of the pins for the motor, but you can work it out quite easily

i wired in a remote kit for my central locking onto the pump loom. easy to do. i used haynes wiring diagram to help.

the locking wires can be found in the drivers side sill
grey = lock
green= unlock
the central locking is positive trigger

easy access yes but just as good at the front as there is more space to hide the associated central locking relay

He is a great guy, goes to the local meet i go too, and he has rediculous knowledge.

This is where I am at a loss, I do not have a decent wiring diagram to help me out here!!!

look in the maintainence section, im sure i have seen the electrical schematics in there or do a search if you havent allready, otherwise invest in a haynes manual! :grin: :grin:
