http://www.golfgti.co.uk/viewpastevents.asp?eventID=43
back then a set of rims on a standard big bumper mk2 was all you needed
-
Quality pics form back in the day :D
nice 1 jv
jeez 99 man, i was only 16!
my mum had a nice tornado red mk2gti at the time,
lovely rondell alloys........ ahh i remember it well ;)
-
Some nice pics there, its amazing how little the styling has changed externally on the cars though. Golfs - Timeless classics, they always were and always will be
-
and i had pretty much your car marcus :) an 89G 16v in red with big bumpers and the big side strips like yours ;)
-
how long you bin dubbing then dude? ;)
-
i think the first show i went to was inters '97 8)
-
cool 8)
-
nice one jv, its good to see some historical features! 8)
my first show was vw action 98, campers were affordable , gti's werent :-X i was aircooled all the way, mad how ive moved over to the dark side ;D
-
campers are pretty expensive nowadays arent they? ???
-
just a bit :-\
ur talking atleast a couple of grand if it has mot and tax really but how cool r they 8)
to put it into perspective, in 98 i bought a bay window camper, i think it was a 72?? or that might have been the bug. my memories crap!! but it was 600 quid with tax and mot and the interior was fully kitted out ;) :D
-
and more like 10k for a really good one!
-
im just starting to kinda get into them if you know what i meen,
gonna take a while i think :-\
its like the whole air cooled thing sounds interesting, but in reality?
naw..... not at he moment ??? :D
-
exactly jv!! i went to the volksworld show and there were some, what can only b described as complete rust buckets going for like 7k upwards :o u wont find a split screen for less than about 5-6k i would guess.
to get into that aircooled scene marcus u have to stop thinking about speed and more about living on a commune with some steelies for chairs and a big spliff in ur gob ;) :D
-
i like the idea of joints 8)
but im not giving up on speed yet :D
speed as in car speed not drugs!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :-X

I got a whole stack of pics from inters '95 which was my first dub show. Been meaning to scan them for quite a while now if anybody's interested in them maybe I'll get round to it. Some quite interesting ones of how times have changed (big rear spoilers, massive plastic bodykits etc).
