Title: 326.8bhp and 427.7nm Torque....
Post by: CocoPops on 01 March 2009, 18:07
Just had the car dyno'd up at SuperChips.
326.8bhp @ 6585rpm
427.7nm Torque @ 3200rpm

It's performing well and I'm quite pleased with the figures... especially as the roads are drying out and the traction is good.

Surprisingly useable to be honest.

As long as you don't hoof it from launch, then she pulls and pulls all the way to silly speeds.

What other mods would I have to do if I did get mine remapped...

Fancy keeping mine now but dont want to put a hell of a lot of money into it.

A stage1 bluefin map will see 280-290 bhp.

Stage 2 (with exhaust) will see similar results to the above.

Stage 1 Bluefin doesn't need any other mods.  It took my standard car from 229bhp to 299 bhp

....And on the same gearbox as the GTI whether Manual or DSG, as far as I know.

Awesome power and torque.

I bluefinned my Ed30 and whilst the power was addictive the car was just not as good to drive.  1st and 2nd were pretty much out of the question from low speeds and there was so much torque you ended up wafting around like driving a diesel.  Mapped it back to standard and the car was much more fun.  Back to revvy hot hatch as designed.

I'd like to see what other remaps are like in comparison but bluefin not for me.  I guess there is no way to sell on either??

what is with that zig-zagging in the torque curve.. greenouse's did the same
nothing to be concerned about i'm sure but i've seen it twice now with bluefin, just odd!

just to stir it up a bit - isn't it amazing how they've found the power they quote on their own rolling road  :lipsrsealed:

Injectors maxed out?

It probably isn't, I'm just sure I've been told somewhere that zig zagging can be caused by that?

No lambda readings? Would be interested to see how it was fueling.

What boost was this running at?

Oh yes my bluefinned ed30 will be attending the rollers at JKM this Sat so it'll be interesting to see how it goes or not as the case may be.

My first attempt with bluefin wasn't great as they loaded a low power profile on the car which only took it to 250 bhp, though to be honest this was really useable,...

I went to see Superchips and their customer service was fab to be honest and after a reload and a run on their rollers they reckon I could see between 280-290 so I am really looking forward to see whether it comes anywhere near this,......

I think 326 bhp if mapped right would be very useable, more so in the in gear acceleration tiimes and no doubt an ed30 with this sort of power would be knocking on the rears of some serious cars out there,....fair play!!!

Mine is running at JKM on saturday, hence going to superchips to get a figure as well.
I can then compare ;)

Mine ran 327 on a Dyno Dynamics roller @ Weston Motorsport after the DP and cat had been fitted that week. Last month my car ran 339 @ SC HQ.

P.S. No spikes on that reading Toph

I estimate the SC rollers are running a bit on the highside but mine ran back to back with SteveP's and he ran 310 from memory. :afro:
