anyone used the bp ultimate 102, it cost me £2.60 a litre and had to put in a code at the pump to fill up with it, £50 for 19 litres and it made know difference at all, its supposed to be high octane track fuel, but load of bollocks if you ask me, i know my car aint a ferrari but thoght i might get something good for a small fortune. lol
-
what were you expecting it to do?? add an extra 10bhp or make you go faster?? high octane means it burns easier leading to better mpg!
-
didnt seem like i got better mpg, even if it did it wouldnt be enough to make up for the extra £1.60, dont know what was going through my head, must be alot better on your engine, make it run better or something ?

High octane means its less likely to detonate under high heat/pressure - so only the spark ignites it.

If you had a seriously high compression engine - then I'd expect to see a difference, otherwise, I wouldn't expect it to do much.
-
It would take about 3-4 tank fulls for your ECU to adapt to it properly, but then you're not going to run it indefinitely though, are you?!
Stick to Tesco/Shell 99 RON - Will be more than good enough for a road car.
I can't see the point of the 102 RON outside of motorsport, myself.
Or unless you're running a 700 bhp monster, lol!! :D

yup i agree with ivor

i only use shell vpower but im sure thats only 97 ron as to the standard 95ron

Nope, V-Power is 99 (It's predecessor Optimax, was 98)......................... Normal BP Ultimate is/was always 97. ;)
