alright guys the pipe running from the side of the block to the heater is leaking its the right had side one of the two, iv looked on gsf and it lists a feed and return, which one is this? its a 8v kjet engine

IIRC left is inlet (feed), right is outlet (return).
It should be obvious from looking - one end goes to the rad, the other from the engine.

just double checked mate and its the pipe that comes from the engine and not the one that goes down to the water pump
so thats the feed? sorry i must sound stupid but the golf starting to piss me off!
is the plastic cover on the thermostat known as a water flange? as it doesnt list a thermostat cap on the gsf page but it does a water flange (well two, one has engine side in brackets)

The 'water flange' will be the thermostat cover, the one with (engine) will be on the right hand side of the cylinder head with the big pipe coming of it...

ah ok cool il get one of them ordered aswell, can anyone just double check my thinking the feed is the one thats fubared the pipe on the right thats attached to the side of the engine
