Title: Whos been working on their mk3???
Post by: bentert on 28 February 2009, 15:52: Today I have fitted my bonnet bra, and then I plugged in my sub and amp.... what a f**king ball ache fitting the cabels is for the amp, so much harder than on a mk2 and mk1, buts its finally done.
I then got a new valve fitted to my tyre as it was shagged, and then hovered and washed the car, tomorrow I am going to wax her.... WOW how awesome!!!

TB clean and new vac hose+ tidy of spare wheel area as used wheel for jack.
Bloody new rust hole, MOT 23/4/09 :angry:

Post by: boneybradley on 28 February 2009, 16:07: I got my machine polisher out and used some mild cut followed by loads of polish and wax.. oh and I fitted a badge :wink:

Then bent the sill a little bit using the stupid VW jack, why haven't I learnt over 20 years that VW jacks are sh!te!! Went and bought a trolley jack.

Jacked up car and fitted a Le Mans wheel to see how they look. Then took them down the tyre place to have the tyres removed ready for me to refurb them.

Next job, get some coilovers and drop her down then fit the refurbed Le Mans on.

Plates are pressed metal in uk font....avalible from dubmeister etc and the grommit was from halfrauds. I drove many vans in my life without rear screens so I don't miss not having the wiper (every one's different tho!)

Also my spoiler looks a bit tacky atm with duct tape over the brake light, as there's no brake light there ;)

I advise to stay away from German plates, the law is really cracking down on these and if you get caught, you will get a £30 fine each time, instead why don't you get UK pressed plates? They are legal and look better than normal plates.

Post by: rodz22 on 28 February 2009, 21:51: i put some jamex sportline shocks andsprings on the anniversary yesterday, need to adjust the camber on the front and maybe raise the rear end a bit. next is black roof,sort the rust out and might find some quads !!!!!!

Been on eBay far too much though, got a new OSF arch coming soon, and just missed out on a set of Ibiza GTi clocks :(

Post by: mixedupste on 03 March 2009, 12:39: Fitted the original mirrors and took the crappy m3 mirrors off (which are now for sale :wink:) took the abt front grill off (which is also for sale :wink:) and fitted my new FK grill. My fog lights arrived from Germany last night so fitted them when i got home from work. (old ones not for sale :laugh:)

hardest part was fittin my tax disc holder :grin: :grin: :grin:

Just got to get the front arches rolled at the weekend and then thats it till the summer

Post by: markc123 on 03 March 2009, 23:38: Fixed me wipers (sort of), put new wiper blades on as well, made the headunit actually fit all the way into dash (dremel FTW) and made heating controls more shiny:

Managed to fit driving over to Harrogate in amonst fixing it - driving well now.
