Title: ECU back to stock
Post by: topher on 08 July 2004, 14:23
Just had my ECU flashed back to stock ready for the remap on Monday. HOW SLOW !! I can't believe I drove it in this sluggish standard form for so long, the "go pedal" doesn't make it go anymore  :'(
A scary thought... is that my car has several other performance enhancing modifications so it's still quicker than a standard 150BHP 1.8T.
Any of you standard 1.8T guys out there, GET IT REMAPPED !
Roll on Monday...

Chris.

150bhp on a mk4 isn't going to feel fast  :-\

with all my bolt-ons its realisticly making somewhere between 160 - 165.. probably isnt THAT slow really, just feels like it after driving round with 200+ for so long.

I drove my mates TDI 90 yesterday and although not up to GTI or VR6 kind of performance, it was no slouch either. I'm hoping to pick up a 110 which according to Parkers spec should be nearly 2 seconds quicker than the 90, 0 to 60.

Do you reckon these figures from Parkers are realistic?

If so, '6, check out their figures for the VR6:-

Those 150's aren't far behind you and with double the economy!

Parkers figures for the mk4's seem to be about right... if the cars really are producing that bhp. The diesels are notorious for making bigger power than claimed (just ask s11eps in his 186bhp standard PD150).
Just read your other post too rich and this may interest you

revo come highly recommended, and with price cuts like that on the 110 you're laughing  ;D
